The Rogun hydropower plant is being constructed in Tajikistan, the valley of Vakhsh River. construction site located a narrow gorge separating and Surkh-Ku ridges. Most hydroelectric complex structures are within single tectonic block, which bounded by two faults - Ionakhsh Gulizindan, proximal to regional fault. study stress distribution around diversion tunnel was carried out numerical simulation, aimed identify strongly dislocated heterogeneous rock massif before after creation. underground cavity significant factor influencing natural field massif.
